Welfare Officer Duties - Workers Saving Scheme: In regards to the Financial Literacy Program, we have already started Monthly Saving Scheme (MSS) with Bank Ltd. Under this scheme, workers will have the liberty to save fixed amount every month for which they will earn interest (@ roughly 10.5% per annum). The duration of the scheme is 5/8/10 yrs as per the decision of the workers.
So far we have found wonderful cooperation in the Bank & lot of enthusiastic workers wanting to save money.
Blood
Donation (Auto blood for life): We have an extensive In-House data bank of
Blood Donors from within our factory. Personnel are aware of their blood groups
ahead of any emergencies and are readily available for donating blood to their
respective groups at the required time. We have approximate 5000 blood donors
& so far on an average we donate 10 to 15 bags/month.
Welfare Fund: We have Workers Welfare fund. Workers can avail for extra financial support (as loan/grant) in case of any emergencies such as for Medical Purposes.
More Welfare Officer Duties
Transport facilities for workers. We have full time buses for easy transportations of workers, living quite far from factory.
Workers are entitled two bonuses on the occasion of Eid.
In association with Lions Club International, we offer Eye Camp (free eye check) facility twice in a year. In case more serious treatment is required/ identified, like operation, we organize and give financial support to workers.
Full time Doctor & Nurse Facilities with free medicine.
In addition twice weekly Doctor Facilities and free medicine facilities are also available for workers, in association with Marie Stopes Clinic. Marie Stopes Clinic provides discounts for different pathological tests available in their lab.
Cricket, Football tournament are arranged out side the factory and Table Tennis, Snooker tournament for male workers and staff. Carom, Ludu etc for female workers and staff are held on different occasions. We have a big hall room for the indoor sport activities.
Cultural programs are arranged specially on New Year day. Workers participate by performing in dramas, singing and dancing. We are planning to organize drama & songs for awareness of workers in difference social/health issues.
A partnership approach to improving labour relations and working conditions has been going on for last 2 years under ILO-BGMEA partnership project which is still continuing.
We have appointed Lankan Clothing Management Institute as consultant for training on process-re-engineering which helps to develop workers work efficiency and individual improvement on quality work. Through in house training workers can improve their efficiency and thus salaries.
Provide sanitary napkins to all of our female workers free of cost (will implement this month).
We give preference to the physically challenged workers during recruitment.
We have been regularly donating money & clothes to the flood effected people, besides donating books, scholarships/stipends etc.
Helper Minimum Salary: We already rise the minimum salary of helper at our factory regardless of what is prescribe by land law.
Workers Education Program: We have started an education program for our workers and middle management to increase their awareness named “Duties and responsibilities of workers & their rights at working aspects” helped by ILO and H & M. The training workshop has been started from February 05, which will be continuing. The training is held 2 days in every month. 20/25 trainees can participate in this training.

Lottery: Every month we arrange a lottery program for the workers. The useful things such as TV, DVD, Dressing Table, Bi-cycle, Hair ring etc. are distributed to the winners as prize.
Incentives Scheme: Auto has started a production oriented incentive scheme for its workers & middle managements. Benefits are distributed on followings ways.
Disaster Relief Fund: Auto has “Disaster Relief Fund” for its employees. Management bears the expenditure of this fund. Workers and employee can avail for extra financial support in case of any emergencies such as for Medical Purposes, Accident, Education, Marriage, Natural Calamity etc. This fund has been formed from 2006. Already, 1 Luck taka has been donated to the disaster family in this year.
